What is the Generic name(s)?

Kz soap has Ketoconazole[1] as the active ingredient. It belongs to the class of drugs known as Azole[2] antifungals[3].

This anti-fungal soap is composed of a major active ingredient known as Ketoconazole which is present about 2%, hence, Kz soap is also known as Kz 2% soap.

The synthesis of ergosterol is prevented by inhibiting the enzyme, cytochrome P-450 dependent enzyme Lanosterol 14- alpha-demethylase. It then results in inhibiting or ceasing the growth of the microorganism.

It also inhibits the synthesis of the fungus cell membrane which results in the accumulation of lower concentrations of toxic substances such as Hydrogen peroxide[10].
